Obtaining water

Before water reached our homes, we had to go out and look for it: at the communal spring, the well in the yard or by collecting rainwater. These actions required effort and specific tools. Cultural materials reflect this reality with a wide variety of objects, such as tiles, guttering and pipes, structures above wells and jugs. Today all we need to do is turn the tap on, but behind this simple step there is a whole system of obtaining, transporting and distributing water.
Given the effects of climate change, we need to value this circuit again to understand that water is not infinite.
