Fashion magazines showed at the exhibition "Distinction"

The Documentation Centre provides fashion magazines at the exhibition "Distinction. A century of fashion photography", on display until 27th March 2016 at the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona.

A total of 10 fashion publications coming from the Documentation Centre of the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona reproduce some of the pictures of the showing. Of all of these magazines the highlight Tricornio, edited by Modas Badia from Barcelona, ​​of which we can see two remarkable copies: winter 1934-1935 and autumn -winter 1935. Also there are two commercial catalog firm Armand Basi, as well as an issue of the influential Harper's Bazaar Spain.

The starting point for this exhibition is the Museu del Disseny fashion photography collection, which comprises a total of 464 images, produced from 1903 to 2013.

Fashion photography was the main means used to promote fashion in the twentieth century, and can be regarded as just another element in the fashion system. These images are generally commissioned for publication in fashion magazines or for use in media campaigns by fashion brands, designers and companies.
